Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer

Case 17-051433

On December 21, 2017 at approximately 6:49PM Abington Police were notified of a fight happening on the 1500 block of Lindbergh Avenune, in the Roslyn section of Abington Township. Loud screaming could be heard from inside the residence by responding officers. The officers knocked on the door several times and announced they were there but there was no response and the screaming continued. Fearing someone was being assaulted in the home, officers forced open the front door but remained outside.

A female, later identified as Daisha Hall, 19, came to the front door and stood in the doorway blocking the view into the home. Hall immediately began yelling at the officers and refused police commands to step outside or answer questions as to the well-being of others in the home. Officers were attempting to get Hall outside of the home when she struck an Abington Police Officer in the face. She continued to resist officers who were now attempting to arrest her. During the struggle another officer was injured when he fell, striking his head. Both officers were treated at Abington Jefferson Health Hospital and released.

Once in custody, officers checked the home for other occupants and ensure their safety. 3 adults and 2 juveniles were in the home  and were okay. Hall continued to be combative while at the police station and assaulted another officer who was not injured.

Hall was arraigned by District Justice Kessler on the following charges: aggravated assault simple assault, resisting arrest, obstructing of administration of law or other government function, recklessly endangering another person and criminal mischief. Hall is being remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.
