Suspect Arrested for Indecent Assault of a Child

Joseph Cornelius Richardson, 18, of Philadelphia was arrested on February 6, 2020 for the Indecent Assault of a Child.  The victim reported that in July of 2019 Richardson, who was known to the victim’s family, sexually assaulted her in her home located in Abington Township.  An investigation followed which led to an arrest warrant for the following charges:  rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault of a child, indecent assault on a child under 13, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors and related charges.  Richardson was arraigned before Magisterial Justice Elizabeth McHugh Casey and held on $50,000 cash bail.  He was transported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
