Gun Disposal
Gun Disposal
On June 9, 2022, the Abington Police Department took 118 firearms to Fort Indiantown Gap, where they were safely destroyed in a giant metal shredder by the Pennsylvania National Guard. The guns had been stored in evidence, and a court order was obtained to destroy them. The guns came into the hands of police through numerous circumstances, including suicides, guns used in crimes, and some that were just turned into the police department for safe destruction.
