88 Station Avenue Carjacking Arrest
On December 26, 2022, at 11:00 PM, an individual was sitting in his red Dodge Charger, talking with friends, in a parking lot near 88 Station Avenue in the North Hills section of Abington Township. The victim was approached by a group of 5 males, most of them brandishing firearms and wearing ski masks. One of the males grabbed the victim and pulled him out of the car. The suspects then got in the victim’s car and fled the scene. The carjacked vehicle crashed a short time later in Cheltenham Township, and all suspects fled that scene; believed to have been picked up by a trailing vehicle. Follow-up investigation by Abington Detectives, resulted in the identification of the main suspect, Hezekiah Washington, 16 years old, from Boyertown, PA. On January 3, 2023, Washington was arrested by Pottstown Police in an unrelated incident. Abington Police obtained an arrest warrant for Washington, charging him with robbery of a motor vehicle and related firearms offenses. Due to the violent nature of this crime, Washington will be charged as an adult.
