THEFT OF JEWELRY
At approximately 8:55 PM on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 two men were arrested after stealing a large amount of jewelry from MACYS in Willow Grove Park Mall. The suspects asked a clerk to show them some jewelry and while she had the case open one of them diverted her attention while the other reached in and removed a whole rack of gold bracelets. The man who removed the jewelry hid it in his coat and they both left MACYS and entered the Mall. Store Security Personnel stopped and detained them until Abington Officers arrived and placed both subjects under arrest. Each of the men had some of the stolen bracelets in their possession when arrested (approximately $32,000 in value) as well as some suspected illegal drugs. They were arraigned and held on $25,000 cash bail for charges of theft, receiving stolen property, drug law violations and related charges.
