Shooting Incident
On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at approximately 11:06 PM, Abington Police responded to a report of a female shot in the hand in the 2800 block of Susquehanna Road. Officers arriving at the scene located a vehicle with two females inside. One of the occupants, a juvenile female, was found suffering from a gunshot wound to her right hand. This victim was accompanied by an adult female.
Immediate first aid was administered to the juvenile victim, and she was then transported to Abington Jefferson Hospital for further medical treatment. Based on the officer’s initial assessment, it was determined that the suspects were no longer in the area.
Detectives later determined the incident occurred in the parking lot of Roslyn Park, located at the intersection of Fernwood Avenue and Thompson Road. According to the victim and witness, the two were parked in the lot, engaged in conversation, when a male approached the driver’s side of their vehicle and asked to speak with them. The victim rolled down the window and spoke briefly to the male. At that moment, a second male suddenly approached the vehicle and fired a single shot into it, striking the juvenile female in the hand. The victim and witness immediately fled the scene in their vehicle and called for an ambulance to their location in the 2800 block of Susquehanna Road.
