Armed Robbery Arrests
June 10, 2014
Case 14-022450
At approximately 10:00 AM on Tuesday June 10, 2014, the Family Dollar Store located at 929 Easton Road in the Roslyn Section of Abington Township was robbed. There was one employee, 41 year old Soyini MOODY of Philadelphia working in the store at the time. She stated that a male entered the store and stated he wanted to return a pair of shorts he bought the previous evening. MOODY stated that when she started the process the male produced a black colored handgun and said; “give me the money out of the register, don’t do anything crazy, I don’t want to hurt you!” She gave him the money from the register and he then demanded the money from the safe. She gave him that money and man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and MOODY called 9-1-1.
During the investigation, Investigators determined that although the robbery had taken place exactly as MOODY described, she actually knew the suspect and was aware that the robbery was going to occur. MOODY had helped pre-plan the robbery and was expecting to receive some of the stolen money.
The suspect who actually did the robbery was identified as 34 year old Shaheim PETTIWAY of Philadelphia. PETTIWAY was taken into custody without incident at approximately 4:00 PM on June 10, 2014 at the intersection of Keswick Avenue and Easton Road in the Glenside Section of Abington Township. All of the stolen money was recovered. MOODY and PETTIWAY are both in custody and are being charged with robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy and related charges. They are currently awaiting their arraignment.
Note: – The charges against Soyini MOODY and Shaheim PETTIWAY are allegations only and have not yet been proven in a court of law.
