Arrest for Residential Burglary

At approximately 10:00 AM on Monday, November 28, 2011 a witness saw a man attempting to break into a home in the 900 block of Garfield Avenue in the Ardsley Section of Abington Township. The witness saw the man climb onto a hose box in the rear of the house and try to remove a screen from the window. The window was locked and the man did not gain entry to the home. He walked away from the house and was stopped by responding police officers. He was identified as Jason BURNS, age 24 of High Avenue, Roslyn. BURNS was taken into custody and admitted attempting to burglarize the home. The owner of the home was contacted and stated that she knew BURNS but that he was not authorized to be at or in her home. BURNS was charged with criminal attempt burglary, Criminal Trespassing and related charges. He was arraigned and bail was set at $10,000 cash with a preliminary hearing set for 10:00 AM on December 7, 2011 in front of District Justice Juanita Price. BURNS did not post bail and was sent to Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
