July 8, 2017

Case 17-027434

On July 8, 2017 at 12:40 PM, Abington Police Officers responded to the Key Bank located at 761 Huntingdon Pk. in the Huntingdon Valley Section of Abington Township for a reported armed robbery.

Upon police arrival, the bank teller advised that the suspect, who was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants and a black and white colored scarf covering their face, entered the bank and approached the counter. The suspect pointed a black handgun at the teller and demanded money. After receiving money from the teller, the suspect told the teller, “ I need you to come with me”. The teller fell to the ground and replied that she can’t come, and the suspect fled the bank. Witnesses observed the suspect enter a silver sedan and leave the area.

Shortly after the suspect fled, Officers from Abington and Philadelphia Police Departments stopped a silver Nissan Altima in the 1100 block of Morefield Rd., Philadelphia. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as Nijole SNEZHKO, a 58 year old female from the 500 block of Simms St. in Philadelphia. SNEZHKO was wearing clothing which matched the suspect in the surveillance video of the robbery. Also located in the vehicle was the grey hooded sweatshirt, the black and white scarf, a large amount of banded currency, and a black revolver. A closer examination of the revolver revealed it to be a starter pistol which had the appearance of a real firearm. SNEZHKO was arrested and charged with robbery and related offenses.
