Bank Robbery – BB&T Bank, 990 Old York Road, Abington – UPDATE

At 9:03 AM on October 20, 2016 a male walked into the bank just after it had opened. The man walked directly to a teller and opened a small book which displayed a note that demanded money. The clerk handed the man an undisclosed amount of assorted denomination bills and the male turned around and walked out the Old York Road side doors (the same one he entered through) and was last seen walking north on Old York Road towards the parking lot. No weapon was shown or implied and there were no injuries.
Through investigation and as a direct result of tips received from the public, a suspect was developed. On October 24, 2016, that suspect, 46 year old James ISABELL whose last known address was in Philadelphia turned himself in to Abington Police. ISABELL has been charged with robbery, theft and related offenses. ISABELL was arraigned and is being held in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.
