Fatal Motorcycle Crash

At approximately 4:52 PM on May 14, 2015 a motorcycle and a car collided at Easton Road and Davisville Road in the Willow Grove Section of Abington Township. The investigation indicates that a blue and gray, 2006 Harley Davidson Motorcycle operated by a 45 year old man from Trumbauersville, PA was traveling south on Easton Road from Moreland Road at what witnesses describe as a high rate of speed. A bluish/green 2002 Volvo which was being driven by a 22 year old man from Philadelphia was northbound on Easton Road, in the left hand turn lane. The Volvo attempted to turn left into the Willow Grove Park Mall and pulled into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the right front side of the Volvo, just in front of the right front wheel. The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the vehicle and severely injured. He was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There were no other occupants except for the two operators and there were no other injuries. The cause of the accident is still under investigation. The name of the deceased motorcycle operator is being withheld until his family can all be notified.
