Mt. Carmel Railroad Crossing Construction and Road Closure beginning Monday, September 10, 2018

SEPTA will be renewing the Mt. Carmel Avenue rail road crossing grade. The tentative dates for construction will be from 8:00 A.M, Monday, September 10, 2018, to 8:00 P.M., Friday, September 14, 2018. In order to facilitate construction, Mt. Carmel Avenue will be closed to all vehicular traffic at the railroad crossing, for the duration of the project. Point of contact for construction is David J. Detour Route:

o   Mt. Carmel Avenue will be closed to all vehicle traffic at 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 11, 2018, between Houston Avenue and Tyson Avenue, at the intersection of the SEPTA Railroad tracks.

o   Westbound traffic will be detoured from Mt. Carmel Avenue, north on Easton Road to Jenkintown Road; east on Jenkintown Road to Edgehill Road; south on Edgehill Road to Mt. Carmel Avenue., ending the detour.

o   Eastbound traffic will be detoured from Mt. Carmel Avenue, north on Edgehill Road to Jenkintown Road; east on Jenkintown Road to Easton Road; south on Easton Road to Mt. Carmel Avenue, ending the detour.

o   All traffic lanes will open on or before 8:00 P.M., Friday, September 14, 2018.
