Press Release: Adair Jackson Arrest
Press Release September 5, 2024
Abington Police Case #23-035024
SUSPECT WITH TIES TO THE 2023 DRUG OVERDOSE DEATH OF AN ABINGTON RESIDENT WAS INDICTED ON FEDERAL CHARGES RELATED TO FIREARMS TRAFFICKING
On September 5, 2023, Abington Police responded to a medical emergency in the 900 block of Rydal Rd, where they discovered a deceased 53-year-old male. Detectives processed the scene and determined that the cause of death may have been related to a drug overdose, which was later confirmed in an autopsy. Detectives were able to identify the deceased’s drug dealer, who was arrested two days later after a search warrant was executed at their home and drugs were recovered. That dealer then led detectives to their source of supply, who was identified as 43-year-old Adair Jackson, of the 100 block of Delphine St. in Philadelphia. Abington Detectives worked in partnership with Jenkintown Police, Pennsylvania State Police, and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau, and on September 29, 2023, executed a search warrant at Jackson’s residence. Recovered during the search was drug paraphernalia and three firearms. Those three firearms were linked to a gun trafficking investigation that extended from Pennsylvania to South Carolina. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case, and a federal grand jury indicted Jackson, charging him with firearms trafficking and possession of a firearm by a felon. On the morning of September 5, 2024, Jackson was arrested at his residence by ATF Agents and Abington Detectives.
CRIMINAL CHARGES, AND ANY DISCUSSION THEREOF, ARE MERELY ALLEGATIONS AND ALL DEFENDANTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL AND UNLESS PROVEN GUILTY.
