Burglary Arrest
On February 14, 2024, at 12:15 PM, a witness called 9-1-1 after observing a suspicious male on the porch of a home in the 1800 block of Guernsey Ave. The witness reported hearing glass breaking near the front door. Officers arrived and observed a broken window pane in the front door. The officers observed a male inside the home, who initially attempted to flee, but was quickly taken into custody. The homeowners were not home at the time, and did not know the intruder. The suspect was identified as Darryl Percy from Philadelphia. Percy was in possession of gloves, burglary tools, a fictious police badge, handcuffs, and a bag containing property belonging to the victims. Percy had been scheduled for a 1:00 PM hearing at district court for a case in which he was accused of threatening his former employer. He has been charged with burglary and related offenses and is currently awaiting arraignment. Percy has a lengthy criminal history which includes multiple burglary convictions.
