Disturbance at Abington Senior High School

On the morning of September 14, 2023, a fight erupted inside Abington Senior High School at approximately 11:28 am.  The situation was brought under control as a result of the swift and coordinated response of an Abington Police School Resource Officer, school personnel, and the school’s security team. Together, they managed to restore order and bring the altercation to an end.

The fight resulted in the arrest and charging of eight juveniles with Riot and Simple Assault. The ongoing investigation, being conducted by the Abington Police Department in cooperation with the Abington School District, may lead to additional charges against other students implicated in the incident.  There were no serious injuries incurred by police, staff members, or students as a result of this incident.
