Press Release – Update
Case # 21-029563
On August 29, 2021, Abington Police took the report for an invasion of privacy incident that took place at the Willow Grove Park Mall. A young female patron had been trying on clothes in a fitting room when she noticed someone trying to film her under the door with a camera. The victim reported this to store employees, and the suspect fled the area. Additional security footage showed the same suspect attempting to take upskirt videos of other female mall patrons.
On October 14, 2021, the Abington Police Department released surveillance photos of the suspect and asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. Almost immediately, detectives received a credible tip from a person who recognized the suspect. Additional investigation was conducted and detectives were able to identify the suspect and obtain a warrant for his arrest. On October 26, 2021, 31-year-old Thomas Cugini, of the 200 block of Quigley Ave. Willow Grove, turned himself in to face charges of Unlawful Contact with a Child (a felony), Criminal Use of a Communication Facility, Invasion of Privacy, and Harassment.
