Case 12-024718
Suspicious Person Talking to Young Children
At approximately 7:00 PM on Friday June 1, 2012 two boys, age 10 and 11 were walking on Keswick Avenue from Easton Road going to watch a game at Glenside Weldon School. When the boys were in the vicinity of 279 Keswick Avenue they were approached by a male who asked one of the boys to share some of the candy that they had. The boys were eating gummy worm candy at the time. The man asked the boys to meet him at his car to share the candy. Fearing going to a stranger’s vehicle, the boys gave him some of the candy but declined to go with him. One of the boy’s grandparents drove by and saw the boys talking to the man but didn’t know what the conversation was about. The grandparents offered the boys a ride but they said they would walk and they proceeded to the school and didn’t see the male again.
The male is described as a black male, 20 to 30 years of age wearing glasses and a blue button down shirt. He is further described as being 5’ 8″ to 5’ 10″ tall with short black hair. The boys believe that his car may have been parked at O’Neill’s Market but no one ever saw a vehicle. The incident was not reported until two hours later when the boys returned home.
Abington Police are asking anyone who may have seen someone fitting this description in the Keswick Area around this time to contact Police immediately at 267-536-1100, option #3. There is no additional information available at this time.
