Thefts from Parked Vehicles

During the last two weeks, there were numerous thefts from parked vehicles in Abington Township. Although a majority of these recent thefts occurred in the Abington section of the Township, all neighborhoods have fallen victim to these types of thefts in the past. These thefts can include items from GPS units and laptops to sunglasses and spare change, but almost all of them have one thing in common…the vehicle was left unlocked!!

Thieves are drawn to areas where it’s easy to steal because of unlocked doors and valuables left in plain view, and once in the area thieves may be emboldened to commit other crimes such as burglary.

Help fight crime in your neighborhood by locking your doors and securing all valuables such as cell phones or GPS units in the trunk or glove box of your car!!
