Attempted Child Abduction – ARREST MADE

Update as of 07/13/2023 – As previously reported by Abington Police, on the evening of July 12, 2023, a male suspect attempted to abduct a 14-year-old female, after she had become separated from friends while shopping at the Willow Grove Park Mall. After an investigation by Abington Detectives, the suspect was identified as 44-year-old Khalilh Jafar Evans, of the 1500 block of Kinsdale St. in Philadelphia. An arrest warrant was issued, charging Evans with False Imprisonment of a Minor, a second-degree felony. Evans was arrested on July 13, with the assistance of the Philadelphia Police Department and the US Marshal’s Office. He is being held at the Abington Police Department and will be arraigned by a judge. A second individual, believed to have been present during the incident has not yet been charged, and the investigation is continuing.
