Vehicle Theft/ Theft from Vehicle Arrest

On May 25, 2018 at 3:24 AM, residents of the 600 block of Cricket Avenue awoke when they heard their dog bark and a car door shut. They looked outside and saw someone drive away in their 2005 Chevrolet SUV. The vehicle had been left unlocked with the key in the console. A short time later, Cheltenham Police stopped the stolen SUV and another vehicle, which had been traveling with the stolen car. Abington Officers arrived and arrested four suspects. Additional investigation linked the four suspects to not only the theft of the Chevrolet SUV, but thefts of various items from six unlocked vehicles parked in the 600 block of Cricket Avenue in Ardsley, the 200 block of Forrest Avenue, the 200 block of Cadwalader Avenue in Elkins Park, and the 900 block of Jenkintown Road also in Elkins Park.
Theft and related charges were filed against Dale BROWN, 18 years old, from the 6200 block of Gardenia Street, Philadelphia, Marco MCKINNIE, 18 years old from the 700 block of Fairfax Road, Drexel Hill, and two juvenile males from Philadelphia. The juveniles were petitioned to Montgomery County Juvenile Court. BROWN and MCKINNIE were arraigned, and bail was set at $5,000.
